The growth of interest in the biology and management of arctic-nesting geese since the 1940's has been extraordinary, throughout the northern hemisphere. The number of papers in the primary scientific litereature has been growing exponentially, with approximately 90-110 papers being published annually in recent years.

Interest in geese has increased recently amongst the general public as well, as concern about the detrimental effects of an overabundance of some species in some areas becomes more widely reported.

The www.goose.org web site was established to facilitate the exchange of information goose researchers and managers, and with the larger public.

As always, we welcome user feedback.
