- Modeling
Complex Systems: Conference and Workshop
-
This is a conference for modelers about methods and issues related to the
development of models of complex systems. The purpose of this conference
is to discuss theoretical and practical techniques, methods and problems
that must be addressed in the development of models of complex systems.
We'll also discuss existing models of complex systems, how they were
developed, and the difficulties encountered and solved in the process.
Papers on any aspect of developing models of complex systems are invited.
Papers focusing on the development of complex systems from existing
simpler modeling systems are heavily encouraged. July 31-August 4, 2000.

The Eleventh North American Arctic Goose
Conference and
Workshop will be held in Reno, Nevada,
from 5-8 January, 2005.
NAAG meetings represent a unique
opportunity for goose
biologists from around the world to
share the most recent
results of their research. It is also a
forum for scientists and
managers to exchange information about
geese and their
habitats. Over 200 people from North

Second North American Duck Conference & Workshop
-
The meeting will be held 11-15 October 2000 at the magnificent
Delta-Bessborough Hotel

conference, like the
First North American Duck Symposium and
Workshop at Baton Rouge
in February 1997, will be a forum for
biologists, managers,
researchers, students, and other concerned
individuals to discuss
current duck research and management issues in
North America and
worldwide. The conference program includes invited
plenary papers by
internationally recognized speakers, shorter
contributed oral
presentations, educational workshops, and a first-class
poster session. In
addition, an opening reception, Western-style Banquet
with multicultural
entertainment, and optional full-day field trips to
prairie and boreal
ecozone sites will be available to registered
participants.

Council of the Society invites proposals for two
Society-sponsored symposia to be
held in conjunction with those meetings. Symposium proposals
should include: (1) a
synopsis of the symposium theme (about one page), (2) a
tentative list of speakers
